I agree this would be very useful, but it would be technically quite difficult to achieve in SkyDemon without costing us UI usability. We'll see how popular this request is.

Hi SkyDemon team,

It would be really useful if the SkyDemon fuel planner could plan the amount of fuel needed for an outbound leg and its reciprocal return journey in one go. Although working it out manually isn't particularly difficult, it can be a bit cumbersome with the process going something like:

1) Plan the outbound route, set the alternate, and note the fuel requirement minus the diversion and holding fuel (as you generally don't plan to use them)

2) Reverse the route, re-set the alternate, and add the total fuel requirement for the return leg to the en-route requirement calculated in step 1)

3) Reverse the route again, re-set the alternate, set the total fuel on board and proceed with weight and balance etc.

A check-box to 'include return journey fuel' in the calculation would be a simple and useful feature - though I suspect it might be a bit more complicated than it sounds as you might need to nominate both an outbound and a return alternate for the calculation...

The alternative to working it out manually would, of course, be to fuel the aircraft at the landaway airport, however due to the extra time it takes, hassle with French fuel cards, and needing to claim back fuel spend from my flying club (I hire at a wet rate per hour) I prefer to do both legs without refuelling where range and weight/balance allow.

Cheers

Sam
